About Us
I have studied widely in the fields of Psychology, Sociology and Criminology.
I hold both a degree in Psychology and an Honours degree in Social Science - in
the fields of Sociology and Criminology (The University of Queensland). As a result
I have studied both problems as they arise from individual issues as well as having
an in depth understanding of how personal problems relate to interpersonal relationships
and social circumstances. I have a special interest in dealing with the issue of
substance abuse both as a problem in and of itself, as well as how it may contribute to,
or arise from other mental health problems. I have had much experience working with illicit
drug users through work with the Queensland Alcohol and Drug Research end Education Centre
(QADREC). I aim to assist people achieve their personal goals in relation to substance
abuse whether they be trying to achieve abstinence or just a reduction in use.
I also have particular interests in both women's issues and depression.
I am a qualified member of The Australian Counselling Assosiation (Member No. 6047), and
I am constantly updating my knowledge base ans skills within the counselling field.
